How does merging duplicate companies work?

Over time, you may accidentally create a few companies with the exactly the same name. Perhaps different people added the same customer for example.

To keep your Moobiz tidy, you can merge these duplicates together - giving you a single company per name with all information combined.

For example, you may have:

• ACME Corp: 3 projects, 2 contacts, 1 purchase order, email & postal addresses
• ACME Corp: 5 projects, 3 contacts, 2 invoices, phone number & website address

Merging those 2 companies would leave you with:

• ACME Corp: 8 projects, 5 contacts, 1 purchase order, 2 invoices, phone number, website address, email & postal addresses

To do this, go to Contacts, then Companies and click the Merge Duplicates button at the bottom of the page.

You can un-tick any companies you don't want to be merged and prefer to keep separate - different branches of the same company perhaps.

Company logos you've uploaded and relationships ('X supplies Y') aren't merged but you'll keep them for the first company sharing the same name. Only one website address or VAT number can be kept, this will be the first one you have for that company name.
